Rainbow Goblin:
children team with a partner to play an outdoor run and chase
game. (Colored Eggs game).

Materials:
Read: The Rainbow Goblin by Ulde Rico (game is based
on this story)
Procedure:
- Children meet in a designated area.
- Children team up with a partner.
- Pairs of children decide to be a color.
- Pick a team to be the Rainbow Goblin.
- The Rainbow Goblin stands down the field and decides
what color they will try to chase.
- They approach the waiting teams of partners and call
out: "Knock Knock."
Colors ask: "Who's
there?"
Rainbow Goblin says: "The Rainbow
Goblin."
Colors ask: "What do you
want?"
Rainbow Goblin says: "Rainbow
Colors."
Colors ask: "What color?"
- The Rainbow Goblin guesses colors until he picks a match
with a team.
- The team then runs in a large circle and the Rainbow
Goblin chases them back to their home base and tries to catch
them. This team, caught or not, will be the next Rainbow
Goblin.
Notes:
- Do not use any area for running where the children can
trip into something while running.
- Teach children how to tag gently.
